Happy Weekend

The days have been blending together for me, but I guess it’s the weekend for you. I’m still in cold, snowy Salt Lake City for a few more days. We’ve found a few little gems in this city so far, and staying at the Hotel Monaco always makes everything a little more glamourous. I’m soaking up the (hopefully!) last few bits of winter here with chunky boots, a little fur, a lot of moisturizing (it’s so dry here), dark lips, and cozy sweaters. When I get back to DC I know I’ll be ready for spring!

Have a lovely weekend and I look forward to being back daily with you next week. Especially because I’m itching to get back in the kitchen and bake something!

Happy Weekend

We finally got a lovely dusting of snow over the whole city this morning. It looks very magical outside.

I’m staying busy this weekend trying to keep my mind off certain sour topics. I just set up my beautiful new Parsons desk – it’s such a fresh and inspiring work space! Tomorrow I’m joining some of my favorite DC girls for a yoga class and brunch hosted by the fabulous Bitches Who Brunch. Throw in some great co-workers, Downton Abbey and a little baking and I think I’ve got a lovely two days off.

I hope you have a great winter weekend. Stay focused and have fun. xo

Every day I’m feeling more and more optimistic about life. I love this because I’m starting to feel more like myself again. I know that there are great things ahead, and I’m getting excited to discover them.

It’s pretty warm in DC today, but I’m dreaming of a white Christmas – especially once I’m home with my family and we can cuddle up in big down blankets, eat leftover chocolate pound cake, and light a real fire. (Although my fake Netflix yule log is kind of amazing.)

I’ve got a few more busy days of work, parties and shopping ahead of me though. Then we can all slow down and just bask in the warmth and joy of the holiday.

Happy first night of Hanukkah too!

Happy Weekend

rainy cozy snowy halloween fall weather season leaves orange red pumpkin tea woolTime to grab a hot cup of tea and a wool blanket…it’s going to be a yucky and cold weekend. It might even snow later today…what?? Despite the weather, I’m totally inspired by these fall hues – pumpkin orange and burnt red, paired with cozy ivory and heather. So yummy.

What are your weekend plans? I’m not a big Halloween fan, so I’m embracing the weather and wearing jeans, Uggs, a sweater and a tiara AKA “Kate Middleton gone undercover to go to the movies.” At least I’ll be warm and comfy, right?

Be safe, have fun and stay warm and dry. xo!
