Daily Inspiration

One can find so many pains when the rain is falling John Steinbeck

This quote by John Steinbeck couldn’t be more true. You can easily feel lonely and reflective during a rain storm. But I also have found many great things today through the rain and I’m very thankful for them. Now just have to brave the rest of the storm. What are you doing to pass the time inside? Stay safe, warm, and dry!

Happy Weekend

rainy cozy snowy halloween fall weather season leaves orange red pumpkin tea woolTime to grab a hot cup of tea and a wool blanket…it’s going to be a yucky and cold weekend. It might even snow later today…what?? Despite the weather, I’m totally inspired by these fall hues – pumpkin orange and burnt red, paired with cozy ivory and heather. So yummy.

What are your weekend plans? I’m not a big Halloween fan, so I’m embracing the weather and wearing jeans, Uggs, a sweater and a tiara AKA “Kate Middleton gone undercover to go to the movies.” At least I’ll be warm and comfy, right?

Be safe, have fun and stay warm and dry. xo!

Please don’t stop the rain

Midnight in Paris rain rainy day weekend Friday

Just kidding. I’d like it to stop sometime. Although I’m kind of enjoying it at the moment. My Friday rainy day song is “Please Don’t Stop the Rain” by James Morrison. Go listen to it. That album is perfect music for today.

Days like this remind me of the fall I spent in Paris. Ducking in and out of little shops in an undiscovered neighborhood. Spending an afternoon watching people pass by and watching the water fall down the windows from inside my regular corner cafe. Secretly loving the grayness of the city.

I also still haven’t seen Midnight in Paris. I must do that.

Let it fall, let it fall, let it fall.

A Little Sparkle

Elijah Silk & Beads Dress

It’s been gray and rainy for four days now. Come on DC! All I want to do is stay under the covers, sleep in and cuddle up with some tea and a good book. Going to work…not so much.

I do love the gray detail in the Elijah dress above, and at least it’s sparkly and pretty (not dark and stormy). For everyone celebrating FNO tonight, I’m wishing you a fun time and an equally sparkly outfit.

If the rain continues and we’re all still cuddled up inside, why don’t you take a few minutes to browse my pinterest? I’m sure you’ll find some images to brighten your day or some recipes to sweeten it.

Speaking of…thoughts on what to bake tonight?
