You gotta love a good Hostess cupcake, right? They’re moist and chocolate-y and have a delightful cream center. But you know what’s even better, is a Hostess cupcake made from scratch. Same comforting treat, but made fresh, with a little more love – so obviously, they’re incredible.
Like the other filled cupcakes I made recently, they’re a little labor intensive…and a little messy…but they come out tasting great!

Look at that delicious cream filling! So delightful! These cupcakes make a great gift too…I made them for one of my co-workers, Sarah-Jo, a fellow Hostess cupcake lover, as her final secret snowchick gift.
Summer is coming to an end. And sadly, I never made the one summer treat that is absolutely necessary to make (s’mores, of course). While it was truly a summer to remember, there were no camp fires and no burnt marshmallows from when I wait until it’s completely charred before blowing out the fire. Really, it’s sad story it was a no s’mores summer.
So on Labor Day, the official unofficial end to summer….I had to celebrate with the most appropriate treat and so I made s’mores bars.
I got the idea for this easy and fun dessert from this fun blog, but I’ve seen many s’mores recipes around this summer. I wish I had time to make s’mores cookies, s’mores cupcakes, s’mores whoopie pies, and these beautiful s’mores cakelettes. I guess I’ll start earlier next summer…
Tastes like summer.
