Happy Monday friends! Ok so I’ve officially started my new job at Hugh & Crye! H&C is a menswear company in DC making dress shirts that fit. While working at a startup means I’ll be doing a bit of everything (I’m going to learn so much!), my main focus will be marketing: editorial, social, events, and much more. I’m very excited, but I would by lying if I didn’t also say I’m also nervous to start something new. I’m ready for this next adventure though and I’d love your support especially in the first few weeks:
- Follow H&C on twitter, instagram, pinterest, and tumblr – cute guys, great style, fun times.
- Help me with my research. What are your favorite men’s style blogs and brands? Who’s style do you/your men love?
- Excuse me if I’m a little absent here a bit – of course I’m going to try to keep up on my blog while I start out, but I’m also immersing myself in my new job so I can kick ass and learn a lot. I know you all can understand that.
Wish me luck! Have a great week!
When you listen to a great song and all you want to do is dance – the last thing you want to be wearing is something you can’t move in. I love adding one casual and comfy piece for a night out at a show…like an oversized t-shirt, beanie + side braid, sweatshirt, my favorite worn in jeans, or sneakers in a great color.
Need some music to get you in the dancing mood? Check out my updated 2013 playlist. It includes a fun song by Willy Moon (who also happens to be super stylish himself).
AND it just so happens I’m giving away two tickets to Willy’s show at U Street Music Hall this Friday night! Who wants to come dance with me? If you’re not convinced, watch his video:
To enter, leave a comment below with your current favorite dance song. (I’ll even add some of them to my playlist.) Bonus points for tweeting about this giveaway using #WillyMUHall.
And if you can’t wait to see if you win on Thursday, you can always purchase tickets here.

Not only was I home sick yesterday, but also my internet wasn’t working on my laptop. What an awful combination. So while lying in bed and doing not much besides watching West Wing, napping, and drinking yellow gatorade, I was also thinking of these pretty things…
Um a cropped gold leather jacket. Hello gorgeous. I would wear you everywhere.
The perfect spring bag? I love this leather scallop edge shopper.
Seriously, the perfect black wedge. I’m obsessed with mine.
I never can have enough hot pink and I just adore this hot chip necklace.
Paris: An Inspiring Tour of the City’s Creative Heart – must get this book on my coffee table stat.

DC has some great concert venues and in the next month or so I’m really excited to go to a couple of shows. It’s one of the best things to do in the winter, right? It’s not like I can spend a Friday night soaking up the sun at jazz in the garden…might as well stay warm by singing and dancing around with a few hundred friends to some great music. And you’ll most likely find me in an outfit just like the one above. Comfy, practical, a little more bad-ass than I actually am.
I’m excited to team up with the 9:30 Club for a great giveaway for two tickets to the Vaccines show on Friday February 1st. To enter, leave a comment below sharing one of your current favorite songs. (I made a small playlist of some of the songs I have on repeat – check it out on spotify!) For an extra entry, tweet about the giveaway using the hashtag #Vaccines930.
I’ll announce the winner next Friday but if you don’t want to wait or you definitely want to end up at the show with yours truly, you can buy your tickets here. Hope to see ya there!
