
I’ve wanted to try layered cupcakes for a while now, and the 4th of July was a perfect opportunity. I used a white cake mix because I didn’t have much time… which was good since my first batch came out horribly! I don’t know what went wrong really… could be my crappy oven. Or, does food coloring weigh cake down? Both times my cupcakes had perfect dome tops and while they were cooling they all collapsed.
Good thing cream cheese frosting can camouflage anything! Decorated with blue and red sprinkles and took down to the AMAZING DC firework display at the mall. (Seriously, best ones in 4 years!)
